Our Story

The story of Te Gjyshi Albanian Traditional Food Restaurant begins in 1998, when our Grandfather build the restaurant at our Garden. His love for his Birthplace made him to serve the specialities of the area to his friends.Twenty three years later we decided to change the look of his restaurant, and here we are now… with a classic restaurant . Our founder’s goal was simple. To have a restaurant serving delicious, made-from-scratch Albanian food at everyday prices, as well as to create a place where guests of all ages could come together to experience the unique flavors, along with the culture of Albania . What came to life was a truly unique dining experience – authentic tastes of Berat region , with family-style dining. This goal has been shared through three generations, as in in 2020, Grandfathers’s Grand soons, took over and started implementing some changes, but still keeping his grandfather’s vision… Good people, good food, good time
