Our Story
Te Gjyshi — which means “At Grandfather’s” in Albanian — is a heartfelt tribute to our founder, Mr. Rapo Rrokaj, and the precious legacy he left behind.
Construction of the restaurant began in 1998, born from his deep love for Berat and its rich culinary traditions.
He created a place where family, friends, and neighbors could gather to share meals prepared with heart, tradition, and passion.
In 2020, his grandson took over the management of the restaurant, carefully restructuring and modernizing it while preserving its roots, spirit, and strong family identity that make Te Gjyshi so special.
In 2022, in response to the growing demand for accommodation from our guests, we expanded by adding six guest rooms, allowing visitors to stay longer and fully experience our hospitality.
Over the years, Te Gjyshi has grown into a beloved destination — cherished by locals and visitors alike — for those seeking the authentic taste of Berat and a warm, welcoming atmosphere deeply rooted in Albanian tradition.

The details of the bathroom set will be stacked in a tray and placed on the stone table or next to the washbasin in the bathroom. Wrapping each detail will be a plastic bag, plain paper box or embossed hotel logo printed paper box.
